Lake District Pubs - Southern Lakes
Royal Oak, Ambleside. A traditional inn dating back to the 1600's with
Tudor beams and an excellent range of real ales. Also boasts a beer
garden.
Sportsman Inn, Ambleside. A small pub with a cosy lounge bar serving
food daily. There is also a basement disco bar open late on certain
nights.
Unicorn Inn, Ambleside. An olde worlde pub dating back 400 years with
oak beams and log fires. Excellent real ales and food available.
The Albion, Arnside. Situated overlooking Morecambe Bay serving Thwaites
beers and quality pub food.
Barbon Inn, Barbon, Kirkby Lonsdale. A quaint traditional 17th century
coaching inn close to Junction 36 of the M6.
Hole In't Wall, Bowness-on-Windermere. Dating back to 1612, the Hole
In't Wall is an olde worlde pub with open fires, beams and wood panelling.
Jolly Anglers, Burneside nr Kendal. Great old fashioned farmhouse cooking
is served in the Jolly Anglers along with a superb range of real ales.
Cavendish
Arms, Cartmel. A 16th century coaching inn with a great reputation
for fine food & ale and a warm, friendly atmosphere enhanced by
areal log fire.
Black Bull Hotel, Coniston. Great pub food made with local ingredients.
The pub also has its own brewery which produces the award winning Coniston
Blue Bird.

Bowl Inn, Crosthwaite. A real gastro pub with numerous awards for
its food. Also sells a great range of real ales.

Pool, Haverthwaite. Excellent food and real ales in a great location
close to both the Lake District and Morecambe Bay.

Lion Inn, Hawkshead. A 15th century coaching inn with beams and
an open fire. Good home cooking available.
Queens Head Hotel, Hawkshead. A traditional 16th century inn with an
excellent reputation for its food. Also offers a range of Hartleys &
Robinsons ales.
Castle Inn, Kendal. A 17th century inn located close to Kendal Castle.
A traditional whitewashed pub with a good selection of real ales.
Wainwrights
Inn, Langdale. A traditional Lakeland Pub with stone flagged floors,
open fires and real ale. Good food in a beautiful location.
Plough
Hotel, Lupton. A traditional pub which offers a wide range of cask
conditioned ales, continental beers and lagers as well as good food.
Station Inn, Oxenholme. A quiet country pub with an open fire in the
winter and has an excellent selection of pub food.
Ship Inn, Milnthorpe. Attractive large pub with beer garden serving
homemade food and a number of traditional ales.
Eagle
& Child Inn, Staveley. The Eagle & Child offers a good selection
of local ales and feature regular guest beers as well serving excellent
food.
Mortal
Man, Troutbeck. The unusual name of this inn is derived by the unusual
sign at the side of the road near to the pub.
The Queens, Windermere. A traditional Lakeland pub offering home cooked
food and bar snacks with a good range of real ales on offer.
