Wheatsheaf
Inn, Brigham. 16th Century inn serving real ales and good pub food.
Even has its own ghost - The Black Abbott.
Blacksmiths Arms, Broughton Mills. Dating back to 1748
this traditional Lakeland pub offers some excellent food with a local
flavour.
Bridge
Hotel, Buttermere. The hotel boasts a good range of local dishes
which can be washed down by some well kept real ales.
Fish
Hotel, Buttermere. Historical hotel which was made famous as the
home of the 'Maid of Buttermere'.
Fletcher Christian Tavern, Cockermouth. Relatively new
pub housed in an established building serving good food and real ales.
Tithe Barn, Cockermouth. Good homemade food served (and
sometimes cooked in) with Jennings ales. Lovely floral displays both
inside and out.
Wheatsheaf Inn, Gosforth. Olde Worlde pub refurbished but
retaining considerable charm. Excellent selection of beers available.
Kirkstile
Inn, Loweswater. 16th Century inn which has an unrivalled, stunning
location topped off by having its own brewery on the premises!
Screes
Inn, Nether Wasdale. Great location serving great ales and excellent
food including some renowned vegetarian dishes.
Ratty Arms, Ravenglass. A former Victorian railway station
located opposite the famed narrow gauge railway - 'l'al ratty' (little
railway for non-Cumbrians).
Newfield
Inn, Seathwaite (Broughton-in-Furness). A 16th century inn serving
real beer and fine hearty food in a warm, friendly atmosphere.
Wasdale
Head Inn, Wasdale. Surrounded by England's tallest peaks and boasting
its own brewery and an excellent wine list - an excellent choice.
